11 years old and ready to rule the world.

How my journey began

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, I am the only child of working middle class parents. My dad taught me early on that “work builds character”. He never missed a day of work in his life. I landed my first job at age 15 at our local AMC movie theater concession stand. I soon mastered the art of popping popcorn and refilling the soda machines. That was in 2000. I’ve had a job every day since.

I was (and still am) a dreamer. I’ve tempered that a bit as I’ve matured in my years, but you can always find me looking out a window staring off, getting lost in my thoughts. My dream was to be an actress, a psychiatrist or……..wait for it… in the FBI. I like to think I found the perfect balance of each of these disciplines in my career as a People Leader- I get to inspire and motivate a group of individuals towards a common goal. I study their mind and behavior to help them achieve their aspirations. I am versatile in how I lead, able to pivot my character in a second’s notice. All whilst trying to be someone’s hero.

I break all blonde female stereotypes. I watch horror movies on the regular (rom com? not my first choice), I love rock music and my personal life mantra is “it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring” - from the blonde goddess herself, Marilyn Monroe. I have an infectious zest for life. At the same time? I mean business. I’m not afraid to challenge directly and use my voice. I get shit done and have fun will doing it.

Family is my #1 priority. I tend to be a workhorse so I have made a concerted effort these past few months to detach when I can. I have an extremely supportive and loyal husband. We have been together for 14 years and married for 8. I knew he was my life partner the second I realized he brought out the best in me and made me want to be a better person. I’m also the mom of two incredible boys. My toddler (who you will see below) clearly has my personality. He wakes up every morning with a beaming smile, says hi to every single person on the street and dances when no one is watching. And who would have known a 3 1/2 year old could be your very best friend. And lastly, the newest addition to our family- a newborn boy who is just three weeks old and (soon enough) will make his debut in family photos.

And now, here we are. I’m ready to tackle the rest of my journey and what life throws at me. I’m ready to grow, inspire, and innovate. To change the world, one person…one human… one being at a time. To continue to grow as a Leader and as a person.
